Banquettes offer a smart and stylish solution for dining spaces. Whether tucked into a cozy kitchen nook, integrated into a family room, or used to soften the edges of a home bar, a well-designed banquette makes the most of every square inch. From relaxed and casual to polished and refined, banquettes bring a bespoke feel to interiors, often becoming a focal point in the room. We’re exploring 10 unique examples that show how banquettes can elevate the dining experience in both form and function.

Park Avenue

In our Park Avenue apartment, a mid-century-inspired banquette adds a sleek and sophisticated presence to the kitchen dining area. Crafted from solid wood and black leather, the cantilevered bench has a light, contemporary appearance. The dining table, with its tubular chrome legs and rounded marble top, echoes the banquette’s mid-century aesthetic for a cohesive and elevated look.

Central Park South

The leather banquet in the Central Park South apartment is custom-designed to resemble a barcode with its black and white stripes of varying thickness. The design gives the built-in a whimsical, yet sophisticated, appearance that is perfectly suited to a breakfast nook. Along with the bench seating, two black and chrome dining chairs expand the seating capacity, making it a perfect spot for morning coffee.

Tonal Palette on Park

In the dining room of our Tonal Palette on Park residence, a custom banquette brings a refined, tailored sensibility to the space. Upholstered in taupe leather and designed to coordinate with the Kimberly Denman dining chairs across the table, the settee’s more formal silhouette elevates the dining area beyond a traditional banquette setting. A large abstract artwork by Sir Frank Bowling, featuring rich blue and green tones, anchors the seating area and introduces a striking contrast to the otherwise neutral palette.
