It can be challenging to stay on top of design trends year after year. Pembrooke & Ives uses many global resources to stay up-to-date and keep our finger on the pulse of how our industry is constantly evolving.

Interior Design & Architecture Tradeshows

1. Interior Design & Architecture Tradeshows

Industry events such as tradeshows are a great way to see products in person. Vendors typically showcase new products and prototypes at tradeshows, so you’ll stay ahead of the curve. Tradeshows are also a great opportunity to meet vendors in person, discuss what you may be looking for and hear their perspective on the industry. As you navigate through a tradeshow, take note of reoccurring themes to discover trends.

Pro Tip: Going to tradeshows can be overwhelming. Instead of having the take notes on the move, snap a photo of the booths that interest you (making sure the company name is visible) so that you can look them up later.

Some of our favorite tradeshows: ICFF, Maison et Objet, Dutch Design Week, Design Miami, Salone del Mobile.

2. Online Retailers for Interior Design

Online retailers make it easy to stay on top of the industry’s latest trends. Sign up for the newsletters of your favorite retailers to catch new releases and notice recurring trends in their product offering.

Some of our favorite online retailers: 1stDibs, Chairish, Rune NYC.

3. Shelter Magazines & Publications

Shelter magazines are a great place to find the latest news, products, and trends from around the world. Many will give exclusive interviews with the industry’s top influencers and offer a unique look into new projects. We especially look out for their round up of trends, whether seasonally or annually.

Some of our favorite publications: Wallpaper*, Elle Décor, House & Garden, Interior Design, T Magazine.
